Okiemute Emerge Winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 9 – 25 year old Linguistics & Communications graduate from University of Port Harcourt has won the season 9 edition of  the MTN Project Fame West Africa. For the closing gala, Okiemute performed Phyno‘s hit song “Fada Fada”. She claimed the N5m prize, an SUV, and a recording contract worth millions of Naira. This season of the MTN Project Fame West Africa has raised another  talented superstar who has gone through series of training in the academy.

Okiemute Emerge biography

She is from a family of six, and the third of four girls. Okiemute credits her journey into music to one of her sisters, whom she said was always quick to put her at the forefront of any music-related activity. Before Project Fame, Okiemute used to have a career in modeling, but she has been following her passion as the lead singer of a band.

  • Elizabeth emerged the first runner-up, claiming the N3 million prize and a saloon car.
  • Kitay was the second runner-up , who went home with N2 million and a saloon car.
  • Pere came fourth he performed Sam Smith‘s song titled ‘Writing on the Wall’ at the closing gala,and he went home with N2 million.
  • The fifth position went to Dapo, who sang Labrinth‘s “Jealous”. He went home with N1m.
  • Winner sang Adele‘s “Hello”. She came sixth and went home with N500,000.
