DV Lottery Application
The Diversity Immigrant Visa program, also known as the green card lottery, is a United States government lottery program for receiving the United States Permanent Resident Card.
Starting May 5, 2020, the results of the DV-2021 visa lottery program will be available online. You will be able to check the status of your entry through the Entrant Status Check on the E-DV website at https://dvlottery.state.gov/ using your unique confirmation number and personal information. It will be the only way to check whether your entry was selected.
Below is a list that details the countries whose natives are currently excluded from participating in the Green Card Lottery. If you are a native of one of the following countries, then you are excluded from entering the DV2022 Green Card Lottery program this year:
- China (mainland only)
- Dominican Republic
- El Salvador
- South Korea
- United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland)
Note that the United Kingdom includes the following dependent areas: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Northern Ireland does qualify.
Green Card Lottery Requirements
- Applicants must be native of a Qualifying Country to Enter the Green Card Lottery
- Applicant must have an Educational or Working experience that will qualify him or her.
- The applicant must have Passport Information.
All entries must be submitted electronically during the registration period at https://www.dvlottery.state.gov and there is no fee to enter the lottery.
