For the audience, Instagram has become another great platform to keep in touch with friends & celebrities and get inspiration, including almost anything like delicious recipes, clothing, and home decor. That is the same reason it’s a great platform for advertisers to explore.

Optimize your images and videos with the right design dimensions

The Instagram Story has a recommended design dimensions of 1080 pixels wide by 1920 pixels high. These dimensions have an aspect ratio of 9:16.

On the contrary, device screens differ and so will affect how the Instagram stories appear. But to stay in the loop, use the recommended Instagram Story size of 1080 x 1920 pixels. You may as well consider using a minimum width of 500 pixels. Accepted file types for images: JPG and PNG; maximum size of up to 30MB.

Applications like Canva make it even easier to make a consistent selection of the right size. The free account is enough if you’re just starting.

Use the right template, font, and colour

The way you combine templates, fonts, or colours may differ depending on the services or products. But consider selecting attractive templates, fonts and colours that communicate the feelings and message of the product/service to the audience.

Earlier we talked about creating a strong branding style, yes, even selecting different templates, fonts and colours shouldn’t change the same goal. Because those elements have special feelings they portray.

How to Make Instagram Stories

  1. Make sure you have installed the Instagram app on your phone or updated to the latest version.
  2. Launch your app and tap the plus icon at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
  3. Scroll to Story at the bottom.
  4. Tap  at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or tap and hold to record a video. To choose a photo or video from your phone’s gallery or camera roll, swipe up anywhere on the screen.
  5. Tap draw or stickers to draw, add text or a sticker to your photo or video. To remove text or a sticker, drag and drop it on  at the bottom of the screen.
  6. When you’re ready to share, tap Your Story in the bottom left.
